Virtual Counseling Eligibility
The following entities are eligible for Virtual Counseling:
K-12 schools
Haskell Indian Nations University students and staff
Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute students and staff
Students and staff from Tribal Colleges and Universities
Staff members from other programs and/or departments
BHWP Virtual Counseling Services DO NOT support:
Long-term, intensive therapy
Substance abuse treatment
Diagnostic testing
Sharing counseling progress with supervisors (as part of personnel actions)
Psychological exams
What is Solution-Focused Brief Therapy?
According to research, solution-focused brief therapy:
Decreases behavioral health symptoms.
Significantly improves student or staff well-being once they implement recommended behavior changes (when provided in a school setting).
Is effective for students who have intellectual, learning or developmental difficulties.
Is adaptable for cultural sensitivity.
